How I successfully launched, produced, and marketed my first podcast
So you want to start a podcast? Great! I highly recommend it, as it’s the most rewarding process I’ve ever been through. Let me unpack that real quick. It’s rewarding, yes. It’s a process, yes. This means you will gain reward contingent on the process you go through, and that depends on several factors, but for now here’s my experience as a complete newbie to the world of podcasting.
I am not a newbie to content creation, marketing, pubic forum, or vulnerability. If you are new to any of these, then my tips may not be of utmost use, and I encourage you to seek supplemental sources of information for your new venture.
Why?
I originally had an idea a year before starting, but that’s all it was, an idea. I purchased microphones through my techie boyfriend’s advice when there was a good sale on Blue Microphones, as they are widely recommended by several podcasters as well as podcast coaches. I thought it would be a podcast with a female cohost over wine, and we would call it Heauxs & Bordeauxs (I’ve always loved a good pun).
